For the past several years, I’ve been the primary freelance travel writer for the Arizona Republic. What that means is that my stories and photos appear almost weekly in the newspaper.
I write the lead feature for the Explore Arizona section, which runs on Saturdays, three times a month. I usually do a couple of series that last through the year and some miscellaneous articles. In the past my extended series have included Budget Arizona, Vanishing Arizona, Military History and several others.
My favorite of these has been the Roger Naylor’s Arizona series, which is now in its third year. And it’s pretty much what it sounds like. During my travels, when I do something fun that month, I write about it! Pretty cool, right?
